In the Research Article e7183298, Tobias Krämer, Antonio J. Martínez-Martínez, and co-workers illustrate a donor-to-acceptor polarity switch at gallium. Counterion control unlocks a β-diketiminate gallyl anion as a nucleophile; bonding to gold yields an isolable Ga–Au platform in which gallium turns Lewis-acidic (δ+) and gold electron-rich (δ−), driving cooperative N–H/O–H activation of ammonia, water, methylamine and methanol under mild conditions.
