Polarimeter

The polarimeter is an instrument that determines the value of the deviation of polarized light by an optically active stereoisomer. This variation can easily be related to the concentration of a substance, so this apparatus can be calibrated and used to determine the concentration of optically active substances in a sample of unknown composition.

Dry boxes

There are two dry boxes (like the one shown in the picture) in our laboratories, inside which the amounts of oxygen and humidity are almost non-existent. Therefore we can store compounds sensitive to air and water, as well as work with them without decomposition problems

Isothermal titration calorimetry (ITC)

Isothermal titration calorimetry (ITC) is a technique that measures the heat discharged or consumed in a reaction. It is used to determine thermodynamic parameters in supramolecular interactions.

Microbalance

The XPR2 microbalance has a weighing range from 2.1g to 1μg with a precision of 1ug.

Photoreactor LZC-ORG

The Luzchem LZC-ORG is a photoreactor designed for organic photochemistry and liquid samples equipped with 5 switchable lamps on each side (UV-A and/or UV-C). This equipment has a recessed magnetic stirrer and a digital timer built in.

15O W Xenon Lamp, Oriel GmbH & Co.KG

The Xenon lamp is used for photostability studies of samples at different wavelengths.

Centrifuge 58O4, Eppendorf

The centrifugation is used as a technique of separation by sedimentation of solid components in liquid media.

Milli-Q ultra pure water purification system® IQ 7000

The Milli-Q® IQ 7000 Ultrapure Water System is used for sensitive analytical techniques: HPLC, UHPLC, LC-MS, IC, and other types of chromatography, as well as for AAS, ICP-MS, and in studies about nanoparticles. It is also used to prepare buffers and reagents in cell biology, immunostaining, molecular biology and biochemistry.
